Online card application

In order to get a Bedford County library card, you must:

1. Live in Bedford County or a surrounding county. Lynchburg and Campbell County residents should get a card from their local library which can be used to borrow our physical materials. *
2. Have a photo ID
3. Have proof of your current address (driver’s license, DMV card, piece of mail, etc.)

If you already have a library card from Campbell County, Bedford County, or the City of Lynchburg, you do NOT need to apply for a card.  Your existing card will work with our system.

If you are trying to  use your existing card with any of our online services and it is not working, please call 540-586-8911 or email [email protected] for assistance. Your card may have expired; we just need to confirm your contact information to get the card updated and renewed. Please do not apply for another card online; your holds on physical and digital items will not transfer.

*If you live in Campbell County or the City of Lynchburg, we can provide you with a card for your locality if you come to one of our libraries to apply for one. It will then be valid at all Bedford County locations. Digital items are restricted to the locality of your card; a Bedford card can’t access Campbell County or Lynchburg digital accounts.
